Nigerian Scammers go Postal
A few of you that still read this page will notice there's an update (here it is). You also may know of my fun with Nigerian Scammers, with the links on the left somewhere.
Well, today at work - I got a laugh. They have made enough money it seems to afford to spam the postal centers to actually MAIL people in person.

My Blog Sucks
I've had a rough year. My forums got hacked, and I didn't really take care of that yet. GamersCharity is dead in the water, and I'm going to have to shut it down offically, soon. I quit Stratics to relieve the guilt on my shoulders. I've been busy for some time, and it's not getting much better. So I just wanted to kick myself publicly for not talking about it here. Maybe later this week I'll post something else, if for anything - to get myself back into the swing of writing. And perhaps drawing.May 23, 2004
The Garden
Growing up, my parents always had a garden. I never really cared for it as a kid, but now that I got my own backyard, I went all out.
I can't say why exactly I have one of my own. Maybe because it's actually "Mine" and I can choose what I want. Or perhaps it relieves some stress, and gives me indirectly some reason to get my butt off the computer and go outside. What I think it really is though is my kids go nuts planting everything, then watching it ripen and eat it. Well, that's not a big problem with the Okra and Asparagus, only a minimal problem with the Tomatos, Cucumbers, and Watermelons, but it's a major problem with the Strawberries and Blackberries. Ah yes. The Blackberries.
This is the only reason I think I wrote about it here today; my blackberry plants. One of my fondest memories from when I was in the Larval stage was going out to one of our co-workers farms, and his mother made the biggest dinner spreads I have ever seen. I was told it was a normal thing for her - to cook Thanksgiving like proportions every weekend. And after that, we got to sneak out and clean up the Blackberry bushes. Or was it Doo-berry? I dunno.
Point is, now I got my own spread of blackberries, and there's something pretty sweet about saying you spent who knows how much time and money on dirt, fertilizer, mulch, netting, labor, and whatever to get some fresh off-the-vine berries. My wife thinks I'm nuts at times, as a small pint do cost $2.50 at the store, but last year our small bushes got two huge bowls full, and this year I see triple the amount from last year.
However, I don't see a blackberry cobbler in my future. Me and the kids went out there this morning, and wiggled through the bird netting and picked about 8 handfulls off and ate them on the spot. Damn that was good eating. Now I want to cover the entire perimeter with a trellis for the blackberry bushes...which isn't a problem getting the plants, as I tilled the soil and now I got over a dozen new blackberry plants popping up all over the garden. I already have someone bugging me to dig them up and give to him.

To the Farm!
Moo You! I would have to say I had a very good weekend, and it's only half over. I took my daughter and the dogs out to the farm today to check up on our cows (and to escape the lair of the wife with a to-do list!). Finally my daughter came up with a name for one of the cows I could not only pronounce (never entrust a 5 year old to name anything) but also accept - Madingo. I quickly spit out Bernie for the other one, and she accepted it. Actually the name she wanted was Madinga, however with a quick look, I had to inform her they were both bulls. I have posted quite a few pictures of our little trip as well. See all about it here!

Oh wow, an update.
I finally have gotten around to fiddling around with the main website once again.
I'm one of those types of people that try to do too many things at once, and
in the end I do a half assed job on everything. Twenty four hours in a day just
isn't enough. Actually, it probably is enough - it's the job that is slowing
me down. I spend nine or so hours a day there, roughly five to six hours of
sleeping, which leaves me with nine or so hours, which is often spent with the
family for roughly three hours, which takes me down to six or so. I am the type
that can spend an hour in the bathroom if I got something to read, so down to
five. Then, there's walking around looking for my car keys, wallet, and hiding
all the stuff that would tick my wife off, so then I'm down to four hours.
So, that's four hours or so a day of Joe-time, assuming I do sleep, go to work,
find my keys, and spend time with the family. And I keep asking myself why I
find myself staying up till three in the morning for days at a time. Hmph.
I had a point when I started all this, but who cares by now, right?

So things have been quite..
Two weeks ago, my wife left to Poland. Alone. I have been been taking care of my son solo, during the busy season at work, while he's in school. What little free time I have had, it's been sleeping or on the couch decomposing. It's a rough life...this single parent life! I think it would have been easier though if my daughter stayed to, but Grandma wanted to take care of her for three weeks.
So, if you know someone who is a single parent, do them a favor and take care of their kids for one night. I at least know my wife gets back soon ><

Sexiest Geek Alive?
I was goofing off on Google.com, and did a search for Sexy Geek to see if I made it in the search engines yet. So guess what? It seems the BBC already found the sexiest geek alive - back in 2001! Well, read all about it.
If you ask me, if she hasn't registered on Sexy-Geek.com yet, and it's been a couple years, time to compete again!

Longhorns!

Well, those that don't know our family has about 65ish head of cattle. My dad went and got two new calves this past week -- longhorns! One is quite timid and won't let us get near him, but the other is brave enough to eat out of our hands.
Now...to name them, which I'm leaving to my daughter to do.

It's ALIVE, and Sexy-Geek.com hits 100 users!

Amazing what a new Engine can do to an old truck. I survived a 170 mile trip - drove to Austin, piddled around town, and drove back on one tank of gas, without breakdown!
Just had to say it.
And for Sexy-geek.com, it just hit 100 registered users. No word back yet from the program authors if they can fix the few bugs I found, however I'm quite surprised I hit 100 nonetheless!

By Request of Beans " How to Draw Jasmine"
Beans loves my Jasmine. And she commented that I make it look so easy to draw her. Truth is, it's not 'that easy' but it's very fun to draw her. Well, I know one thing learning to draw - it was hard but wonderful to see how other cartoonist drew their toons.
So, this was for her, and I made it so everyone can see how I draw Jasmine

Opus is Back!
On November 23rd, after an absence of almost ten years, Opus returns to the nation's Sunday comic pages.
We can't, at this time, go into detail as to what he's been doing during his mysterious missing decade, although Opus is deeply embarrassed about the rumors, especially the one naming him as the catalyst behind the unfortunate break-up of J Lo and Ben. It will all become clear soon.
We'd strongly suggest contacting your local paper and inquiring as to their plans, or lack of, in participating in Opus's reemergence to the Sunday comics. They look forward to hearing from you. We do too, actually.

The Pencil is Mightier than the Anti Depressents
I used to have a side cartooning job back in High School, and halfway through college. Didn't know that did you? No, you didn't...all you people know is I played Ultima Online, probably that I'm an accountant, I have this fascination with Cows, and I am sorta detached from reality as the majority relates from it. More in my forums, as well as more drawings.

Two Trees down...
Two weeks down, and nobody from the Government has taken my request to completely eradicate ragweed seriously. Laughs on them - I cheated on my taxes 8 years ago and it's too late for them to get their money.
It's a good thing our business grows trees for landscapers to plant all over town, I think I went through enough Kleenex boxes now to safely say I killed two good size trees. Bah.

I know what I want for my Birthday
So I was up late working on the new issue of Cowsmopolitan.com, and learned there is a breed of Bovine called the Dutch Belted Cow.

How cool is that, it has a 'belt' around it's waist! As the name implies, they are Dutch (There's two things in life I can't stand, people intolerant of other people, and..THE DUTCH).
So, if anyone wants to hook me up with a Dutch Belted Cow, contact me and I'll give you my FED Ex Shipping Information. Be sure to poke holes in the box so she can breath!

I am in Love
I love Sonic.
There's a party in my mouth and everyone's coming! Eating this burger is the next best thing to sleeping with 3 Movie Stars, while they are awake, and they actually WANT YOU, without the aide of mind altering drugs or sadistic blackmail.
And if that wasn't good enough to make you wet your pants in anticipation, you can throw out the Bread and it's on the Atkins Diet! HA! I ate one of these and still lost weight yesterday.
We honestly should drop a ton of these around Iraq, once they get a taste of this titalizing purple nurply burger, they will realize how stupid it is to kill anyone. Make Lunch, Not War. Hmm. I should copyright that saying.

Sick as a Near Death Dog
It has been almost three years since I was so sick that I thought I was going to Die. Thankfully unlike last time, this seems to be a 24-48 hour thing as I'm finally starting to feel better. I wore sweats and thick socks last night, wrapped up in a down comforter two times over, and still was shivering cold like it was near freezing. My head spinned bad enough that I was literally worse on my feet than what I was a month ago when I was drunk for 25 hours straight in San Fransisco.
But you know what they say...a bad day sick at home is better than a good day at work. Or was that with Fishing?
* shrugs *
Time for my Advil and Hot Tea.

Jasmine
I'm in a pickle. Jasmine actually has grown on me in the past few months, but now someone actually has taken interest in taking her in. I never planned on really Keeping her - but I guess I never planned on someone wanting her. More info here.

Who needs Groceries?
I took this picture downtown San Antonio Today, picking up my car from a body shop.
Click on it if you can't read it. Funny fact : It's the OLDEST Grocery Store in San Antonio still open I am told. Hard to believe with a name like that.

One step forward, two steps back
Well, thanks to Sannio's advice and Bean's belated advice, I am getting some hold on this. I was able to use the pure code to add in my menu, figure how to move some things around, however....
However, I can't figure out how this page is split with the stuff on the left side and main entry on the right. I tried importing the HTML from my original crazyjoe.us Index.htm, where I had it fixed for a 800 pixel width inside a table - no luck. On top of that, a very important tag for the MT credit was removed somehow, so the code that is 'saved' but not published won't go through.
* shrugs *
Other than the fact I don't know code very well (learning some fast), my mother in law's weenie dogs that I'm taking care of this week are crapping all over my house, Jasmine decided if they can crap she can whiz, my home computer has a Trojan virus (which is moot since the powersupply went out and fried the motherboard), things are going very well this week.
