Hello Young Citezens of Brittania.
When I say Young, I mean no disrespect, oh heavens no - it is merely my way of implaying that I am quite old, hence my name Archimedes the Old. You have probably heard the saying that someone is as old as the hills themselves, but I'm afraid I am as old as the hill that no longer stands due to long term erosion...and when you think about that, you realize that's quite old.
Anyhow, as I have stated my name Archimedes the Old. I have been a citizen of Brittiannia for a very long time, and have met many faces and seen a great many places. Why, I remember the days before we had Ort in "Kal Ort Por". Mistaken you may say, but how would you know, it was before your time. Speaking of things before your time, I was also indirectly responsible for the inability to summon animals in town. I am quite short, as you may see, and always needed to stand on things to see over crowds or inside windows, and nothing like a good walrus or polar bear would give me that lift. Well, I mistakenly looked into a wrong window one evening * chuckles * and well, you know how those Mage Guildmasters can be, they forgave my ignorance due to my age but made sure I -nor any wizard- could use summoned animals as step ladders again. * sigh *
So as I was saying before I got sidetracked, as I normally do, I have been appointed by the Royal Court to replace the recently departed xxxxxxxxx, whom if you ask me, and you didn't, was a fine man who's shoes I can't not entirely fill. I am wearing them right now actually, as I forgot where I left my slippers when I left my home this morning, but you would think a man of his stature had more uniformed feet, but honestly his left one is bigger than the right, you'd think this would cause him to stumble sometimes but alas he handled himself well.
So a little more about me, besides my ramblings of my age. I am, as you may have deduced, a Wizard. I have studied the art of Magic for many years under the Mage Guildmasters of Oclloo and Wind. Roughly about the time I mastered my studies with them and they could no longer, I moved to the then recently discovered city of Papau, where I was able to hone my arts devending the city against the Orphidian invasions, but at the same time wander out to the swamps and deserts to dwelve into the deeper and darker arts of Magic.
When I finally finished all that I could learn, a great split of our lands came to pass, and in time the power of Magic was doubted over steel and eventually, the art of Necromancy. The Necromantic arts are a new and I admit, exciting one, however I have invested my entire life, a long one I may reiterate, in the Art of Magery and continue to practice it religiously. I honestly don't know how xxxxxxxxxx walks in these shoes either, they are starting to get extremelly painfull. In my days, we didn't even have these nice shoes in all these styles, there was only one style of shoe and if you wanted different colors you were confined to the dye and tubs. All the power of Magic at my disposal and I can't even stretch out one shoe.
Oh, forgive me. Again, as I was saying before I lost my train of thought....which was.....hmmmm.
I apologize, for if I had a point I have forgotten it. This happens at my age you know. They say you lose two things with age, the first being your memory. And you know, I think I put these shoes on the wrong feet as well. Cursed Mondains Hand they are. If you excuse me, I need to go find my slippers.
