Due to the impending change coming to the facets, it seems the gargoyles in Ilshenar are taking notice that change is coming, matter of fact, they have a prophecy! The Gargoyle Shrine in Ilshenar develops a large crack down the middle, which sends them into disarray. Players over the course of several events not only participate in the EA fiction dealing with the big change up and coming, but assist the gargoyles in quelming their fears, or whatever comes up out of my brain.

GM Setup for the run of the events.

Inside is a few books about the Language of Wisp (NPC book), and a gargoyle fiction book VOLUME 1

It has taken me a few days to get settled in my new home here at the castle, but so far all is going well. It was only last week that Lord British asked me to come to the castle for a contractual research project, which of course being from the King, I could not refuse. He has asked me to study and research Gargoyles, learn all that I can, and report it to him no matter how small the details. I admit it's a peculiar job, but he offered me more gold than I was making writing field guilds for the local libraries, and the income is fixed regardless how much information I gather and report. I honestly have no reason to refuse.

The only book I have found on Gargoyles comes from the Lycaeum, which was so old, some of the pages literally fell apart in my hands when I first opened it. Only after very careful examination and delicate handling, I was able to extract the following information :

"As far back as one could remember, there have always been gargoyles. They were frequently confused with demons, but came clear after much study there were a different race. They seem to be a very savage group of creatures, but wise enough to master some magery and become quite the pest to an unseasoned adventurer. The most peculiar thing is they seem to belong to..."

Due to the damage, I am afraid this is all I could get...I sure wish I knew what 'they' belong to.

I have discovered a small area of the forest near dungeon Wrong where many Gargoyles live. Any attempt in communication have resulted in unbiased attacks, and I fear I will give up on anymore attempts to communicate with them. A chance meeting with several adventurers in a tavern here in Britain has resulted in a boon however - I have learned the Dungeon of Hythloth also is home to many gargoyles.

Much to my dismay, the gargoyles in Hythloth are just as unsociable as the ones I met in the forest. I fear I have failed Lord British in discovering whatever he wanted to know about them. He wasn't too upset at my debriefing I gave him today, he only stated that the time must not be right. I asked him what he was referring to, and he didn't wish to discuss it, only that I should never give up my task of studying the gargoyles. Nystul himself stopped by to listen in on the conversation, but then they asked me to leave as he had pressing matters to speak on with the King.

I was unexpectedly called back to the throne room today as it seems a new land was discovered - one of the entrances within the Britain sewers themselves! I was summoned to investigate a new type of gargoyle that has been spotted, a Stone Gargoyle! I set out this evening through the sewers, and must travel north quite a ways to see these creatures.

I have concluded my studies of the Stone Gargoyles. The only differences between them and the ones we know is that they are harder to kill. It seems they have the same magical properties as a Earth Elemental (their bodies are made of inanimate soils) but they have all the features and characteristics of a normal Gargoyle. Lord British is dismayed at my findings and assures me it's not due to lack of confidence in my work, but disappointment in the gargoyles themselves. I can't understand what the man is looking for, and wish he would tell me more.

It's been a few months since I have been to the castle or near any dungeons. I have spent quite some time traveling in the new lands and studying the new gargoyles and searching all the libraries again for any new information. It seems my old diary was filled, so I have started a new volume. Nothing new has been discovered to report in this fresh new volume, but I will not hesitate to update this book if the situation changes in the future.

I have news to write! Due to this lands' fatigue in the war with Minax, Lord British and Nystul have opened a gateway to another land, one fresh and inviting compared to that of our own. This new land is called Trammel, while this land is now known as Felucca. Even more surprising is that Lord British has sent word that he would appreciate me coming to Trammel and a small residence has even been secured in Britain where I may continue my studies. I suspect he wants me close to him for when the time comes that I must study gargoyles again; since he has been kind to me in the past, I will go.

I write with great haste, as I must set out again to Hythloth soon. It seems a new type of gargoyle has been spotted, one covered in flames. At first, the adventurers swore they thought it was on fire and sure to perish, however it spotted them from down the hall and came at them with magical spells and heavy arms. One of the men died there, the survivors claim it was their lack of preparation and understanding that got the better of them. As I suspected upon hearing the news, Lord British sent me word - a boat has already been prepared at the docks, and a band of warriors and mages are to accompany me there to protect me as I do what I can to learn more.

I would have been home a month ago, however I spent some time in the local healers. It seems not all the men with me could protect well enough when I was trying to study the flame-covered gargoyles that indeed exist. There is no indication nor reason to be found where these new types came from I regret to say, nor any explanation of how any creature can live in such a state, which has only been seen before on a Fire Elemental. Lord British was very eager to hear my news, but again depressed at the lack of new information on these creatures. This time, I would not allow my life to be at risk without knowing his intentions, and demanded to know what I was to learn at the expense of two men's' lives.

I was surprised when he asked everyone to leave the room, including the healers. He them shut the windows, and cast a spell to lock the door, and pulled a chair alongside me. His voice was no longer strong and bold as I was familiar with, but hushed and near a whisper. He stated that one fateful night, the Time Lord visited him to tell him grave news about the land we live in, which if I wanted to know the truth, I should seek out a book written by a "Sherry the Mouse". However, beside the point, it was that with the newfound information given to him by the Time Lord, his aide, Nystul, was able to extrapolate information from his Crystal Ball that he couldn't before. In this visionthey saw people somewhat like ourselves (which very well could have been us), saving gargoyles from some familar dark sinister evil, and he swears they were intellegent Gargoyles, which came to us for help.

I would think the King was mad if he told me this sooner, but he swears on the Crown that the visions must be true. He wishes to be prepared when that day comes to meet these Gargoyles, and that is why my work is so important. He asked me to continue to pursue my research, and I will.

I have not seen the King for ages, however I have started a new book soon as I heard a new land has been discovered called Ilshenar. What is most unsettling is the talk in the castle that nobody in our world actually discovered this land, it seems it has discovered us through the moongates. I was gathering supplies for an expedition when two guards appeared at my door and informed me they are assigned to protect my life at all cost as I travel to Ilshenar- which is very peculiar as I have told no one of my intentions. It seems Lord British remembers my commitment to his request.

I now believe in what was told to me by Lord British ages ago. It seems a very evolved race of beings from this new land opened the gateway to our lands, but doing so allowed Lord Blackthorn to escape to that land, and with the aide of a foul creation called Exodus enslaved many gargoyles to do whatever bidding he needed. At the same time, it seems savages invaded the homelands in an effort to distract our people from discovering the truth, which at this very moment still gives me chills. The reason I believe him? It's rumored that Gargoyles are the ones that have bridged this world to ours. I have no proof of the rumors, but just the rumor that has come from a few of the natives is worth something if I do say so myself.

It seems there is a city in Ilshenar, a large one I may say, inhabited by Gargoyles. What is most surprising is that they are not violent and quite civilized! They have many stores and shops just like we do, and welcome us as long as we abide by their laws. I have called an audience with the King to disclose the most surprising information that I'm sure he will be happy to hear.

Lord British thanked me profusely for my years of dedication to his request, and has asked me to move to Ilshenar to continue my research with the gargoyles. They are a silent race - so we thought - but they only know basics of our language, enough to conduct business but nothing more. It seems they have an entire language of their own and I am most qualified to learn it. I have never considered myself the linguistic type, however I have accepted the new task.

Thanks to some donations from the Royal Treasury, i was able to contract some men to build me a small farm house in Ilshenar, just south of the city of the Meers and between the shrine of Sacrifice and shrine of Spirituality. From here, I can take either of the moongates to travel to many areas of Ilshenar, which will mostly involve Compassion to visit the Gargoyle City. I am not alone, as I have brought alone my lovely companion, Jezebel.

I have made two peculiar discoveries today. First, it seems that many gargoyles are still enslaved near the volcano just outside the Gargoyle City, and are very hostile towards me when I visited. It seems the liberation of the gargoyles from the Controllers and Exodus machines is incomplete, so I shall strive to avoid it.

The second discovery, and most important, was made when I took distance form the gargoyles and ran through a field and saw a large structure in the distance. I discovered it was a shrine, one that seemed dedicated to the virtues. It surely wasn't created by my people, and then when I thought about it, none of the shrines near the moongates were made by our people, and I question if they even were made by 'people', as the 8 pillars for the virtues held up a statue of a Gargoyle! Could it be possible that these creatures, still regarded as beast by our people, know such things as virtue?

Several adventurers woke me up early this morning and informed me it was of great interest to my work if I accompany them to some ruins. I gathered my belongings, some armor and reagents, and we took off to the moongate. They warned me we were going to the shrine of Chaos, which threw my heart into the pit of my stomach - for I have only heard horror stories of the place. It seems a great disaster or battle happened there eons ago, and all that remained was rubble and a wide variety of evil beast. However, they said they knew the direct path to what they needed to show me, and it should be no more than 2 hours travel within the ruins.

I underestimated the dangers of the Chaos ruins, as great manner of stone gargoyles, balrons, dragons, efreets, and many other foul beast roamed the area. However, when they took me to the top of a structure, my jaw dropped as I gazed upon a statue of a gargoyle! We could not stay long, as a succubus in the distance took notice over us, so we had to flea to the gates. It seems Gargoyles have played an important role in these lands, which I can not even begin to figure out. I have decided it's time I go to the Gargoyle City and begin study of their language in hopes to learn more.

I have found a very interesting gargoyle in the corner of the city, who motioned me with his hands to join him in his house. As we sat, he spoke one word to me, "Kal", then pointed to himself and said "Beh Lem Uis". It was easy to assume he was introducing himself, so I pointed to myself, and said "Gerem Pezen". He smiled, and said "Gerem Pezen!" Another Gargoyle walked in, and they exchanged words - then the new one turned to me and spoke " Kal Gerem Pezen, ide nom For Brak". If I assume correctly, we just made introductions.

I have been introduced to several more Gargoyles, all of which are anxious to talk, but I sheepishly grin and shrug. Beh Lem Uis has been very patient, and has taught me more. It seems we are "hiumans" to them, and they call themselves "gargle", both of which are very close to what we consider ourselves. The name of their city is "Ver Lor Reg", which roughly translates to 'Truth, Light, Home'. "ballem" means something about an Evil One, which we refer to collectively as Lord Blackthorn, the one who enslaved many of the gargoyles. His name is "Beh Lem Uis", which seems to translate as 'Just One Wise'.

After a full day of playing charades, it seems he wants to know why my people are in Ilshenar, for which I tried to explain the vision of Lord British. It seems the best word we both could agree on is "Bal Sil", which I think is prophecy. I thought we were clear on this before hand, however the more we seemed to agree on the translation, the more worried he looked. He has introduced me to another Gargoyle, named Draxinium, whom I think is impatient and doesn't wish to try talking to me in my native language. It seems I got more work cut out for me.

When trying to learn a new language, it's important I think to start with something in common, which I think would best be the virtues. I drew pictures of the shrine I saw outside the fields, and his eyes lit up. He then pulled out manuscripts and books from his library, and in an effort to show me they have three principles, which is astonishing, as so do we (Truth Love Courage). I have a feeling our principles are the same, and he tells me theirs are "Un, Or, Us".

I spent quite a bit of time cross referencing many notes I made in a separate journal, and with the manuscripts given to me by the Gargoyles, and I think the translation is not perfect for the three Principles, but very similar. Our Principles are Truth, Love and Courage, however the strict translation of the gargoyles is "Control, Passion, Diligence" Even though they are different words, they are so simliar.

When I drew pictures of shrines, he replied "Ter ort", which he then drew out in his written language 8 new words and pronounced them for me, "Un, Or, Us, Un-Or, Or-Us, Un-Us, Un-Or-Us, Ord, An-Ord". After thinking long and hard, I believe that the eight shrines of Ilshenar are named incorrectly by us "Hiumans", they are actually the 8 shrines of the gargoyles. Interesting enough, he drew physical structures representing the three principles, of which I have not seen in the land of Ilshenar yet.

I have angered the gargoyle, it seems unintentional and he realizes that. When discussing the shrines, with the aide of a map I have acquired from some adventurers, I was able to able each and every one with their gargoyle name. However, when I pointed to the area where the Gargoyle Statue was, he screamed "An Ord! Bal! Vasailem An Kal! Montor Kad." and walked out.

Draxinuum found me later, and spoke to me quite a bit. I am afraid I didn't understand everything, however it seems the city on the map that was rubble was once called Montor, and was home of the Gargoyles before Vas Lor Reg. I know "Mon" means 'Lead', but unable to translate "Tor". If I had to translate what was said to me earlier, it would be "Chaos! Doom! Everything Banished, Montor fall". It seems Montor is a touchy subject to these people, they do not like talking about it.

We have settled down and reinitiated my education again. "Ter Ark" is the location of the places where I can find the shrine to their three principles, which I can only assume means Hidden Places, but he refuses to point anywhere on the map. I try and ask why, and he speaks of "Bal Sil", which means Prophecy. It seems they are a very spiritual people, and they are uneasy about something concerning the future.

I misplaced my book some time ago, which is what I think the Gargoyles wished me to think, but I honestly think they took it for a short while in curiosity to study me, which is only fair. In that time I have learned a great new variety of words and can finally communicate quite a bit with them, so as long as I have my notes on hand, as my memory is not working well. I have been allowed to venture throughout their city and browse their libraries, where I have learned quite a lot.

It seems long ago, before we were in these lands, Gargoyles lived in peaceful isolation. They didn't live here, but atop a great mountain, a place called Monitor. They lived there for many years, however it seems there was a two caste system. The larger gargoyles were the dominate species, as they considered themselves intelligent enough to read and write and pursue other interest. Smaller Gargoyles - the ones we are familiar with in our home land, were too primitive to better themselves, and were permitted in the city as lower class citizens, perhaps more as workers and servants - that information is unclear.

Years went by, and a great natural disaster struck their home, one that destroyed much of their architecture and history and they were forced to abandon their land in haste.

During this transitional period, they were exposed to many of the 'natives' to their land they took no interest in before. There actually were quite a few humans here, but all involved in territorial disputes, building large dungeons and fortresses for themselves, dealing in dark arts and forming armies to wipe each other out. Several groups have been eradicated, but those that remain now seem to live in their own areas and no longer wish to fight over land. The Meer, Juka, and Savages seem to live mostly above ground, while smaller factions of evil mages reside underground.

It took quite some time to find another acceptable climate and area for the gargoyles, but it was found here where I am now. Upon establishing their new home, they once again isolated themselves from the outside world, not to be seen again for a very long time, and without any care about the wars that were waged in Ilshenar.

It seems there was a prophecy long ago about this move from Montor to Ver Lor Reg, which is obviously already passed. There was another prophecy as well, one that described their land invaded by a great force and many gargoyles enslaved to a new evil and they would have to seek help from outside of their world. Well, this prophecy also came to pass, which brings us to current day. Which I think is where I have no begun to learn why the Gargoyles are acting quite peculiar about my research.

There is a third prophecy, one which is only mentioned in some journals and diaries of the gargoyles, but nowhere to be found anywhere. All I can theorize from the scattered evidence is that an even larger fear looms on the horizon, one worse more than the other two combined. There's mention of an enemy of both the gargoyles and their saviors will once again rise to power. For this reason, the Gargoyles welcome our people into their city instead of going back into isolation, and the reason their shrines to the three principles are hidden. I do not wish to anger any one of them for now, so I will not speak of this third prophecy.

Word has reached me that Lord British left our land some time ago, which now leaves me in a bind as my studies were done solely for him. I have written an extensive set of volumes based on the gargoyle language, but now do not have anyone that seems to want to benefit from it. I have bid the Gargoyles farewell, and expressed my thanks to them for their time, and conveyed my deepest apologizes for my departure, but I wish to explore more of Ilshenar.

"The Virtues are threatened"

927 596 -80 Ilshenar : Bedroll and Camp

I am shocked and dismayed at the latest turn of events. I arrived at the Gargoyle's city, but noticed the stonecrafters hard at work in the front. I have been asked to leave the city, as they are barricading themselves off from the rest of the world in an attempt to prepare for the coming prophecy, which is absurd since I read we both are going to have to fight the same enemy. They feel I have learned much from them, but there is no more time left to go into their prophecy. When I started to explain what little I knew, they became furious that I have violated the boundaries of my research.

I don't exactly know much of their prophecy, but I do know they are very afraid. In the morning, I will make my way to the Northeast, as I see many gargoyles flying in that direction and back.

1050 416 -80 Ilshenar : A Book

I seem to be the observer in a most puzzling turn of events. I made my way to the Shrine and saw lights through the night sky and heard loud sounds, perhaps explosions comeing from the east. Thankfully, there were large boulders and rocks here to hide amongst, but I crept closer to try and see what was going on.

I saw a group of evil mages exploring the shrine gaurded by what seems to be a large group of undead. The explosions were the mages trying to damage the shrine, possibly tear it apart, but it proved beyond their capabilities. Just when it seemed they were going to lose interest and leave, a large group of Gargoyle Destroyers flew in and a large battle ensued! In the end, the Gargoyles drove off the mages and undead, driving them back to the east. A large familiar Gargoyle, Draxinum, came and stood in the Shrine, and stationed guards around the area.

I approached Draxinum when it looked safe, who was startled to see me, but thanks to my time with them they were not afraid or concerned. I noticed a very large fishure in the marble that wasn't here before which I can assume could be the first sign of their impending prophecy. When I asked whom the mages and undead were, he replied they were people belonging to an old group of warmongerers whom no doubt came to confirm the rumors of their prophecy.

The Gargoyle also warned me explicity, that they seem to know a human has spent time with them, long enough to be able to speak gargoyle, which would be myself. The mages were calling out to find any humans and capture them, as they wanted the one with the GargoylekKnowledge. I swore to Drax that I would never reveal what I know about them, and he believed me, but inssted it wasn't entirely safe for me to travel in teh open anymore and I should travel only at night. He asked me to alert the leaders of my people, but I didnt' have the heart to tell him Lord Briish is no longer with us, but I will seek out the Commander of the Royal Guard whom I believe is Archimedes the Old.

My next stop will be the Gypsy Caravan that is to the far North East of the passage back to Ilshenar I need to take to the southeast tomorow.

1389 440 13 Ilshenar :Book

The Gypsys were surprised to see me, and ushered me into their caravan very quickly in an effort to make sure I wasn't seen. Word seems to have traveled fast, as they procured a leaflet that was stuck to their doors early the other morning that read "Large Gold Reward for Information on Whereabouts of the Human that Speaks the Gargoyle Tongue". I can only assume the Evil Mages I saw at the Shrine are searching for me, as per the description of the individual that was seen leaving the camp early one morning of the day the leaflet was found.

The Gypsys claim that I have nothing to fear, as the mages have never kept their word on any rewards and believe turning me in will only result in their own death as so not to leave a trail for anyone else looking for me. They were curious as to what I know of what's going on, so I told them that the Gargoyles have barricaded themsleves in their city and their Shrine was damaged due to what I believed was nothing more than seisemic activity.

When discussing what little I knew of the Gargoyle history with them, and elderly lady asked if I knew the history of the ruins at the Chaos Shrine. I claimed I knew very little, but that Gargoyles used to live there, and the name of the city was Montor. They claimed the rumor is some fulfilled prophecy that came to be that explained why they left the city, and the discovery of other lands via the moongates at the Shrines was the fortelling of yet another Gargoyle Prophecy. This was all very interesting, as I recall the reason the gargoylles have gone into seclusion is due to yet another prophecy.

I plan on taking a long journey to the south to get home, my maps tell me I will be going through some cold regions, and I'm thankfull the gypsies here have some clothes I can buy from them.

1313 61 84

I've hide back here in the moutnains, as I swear I heard voices while traveling through this icey passage, and fear it could be the mages. As I read my map, I realize I am going near the passage to reach Reg Volumn, which I hear is a depository of ancient knowledge! It may be interesting to check the area out, and see if I can learn anything about the history of Ilshenear concerning the first prophecies of the gargoyles. I do miss my sweet Jezebel, and can't wait to get home to see her again. My other concern is that.....I hear voices...

1450 571 -19 : Build a Magical Barrier and LOTS of Undead Spawn. This passage has been sealed off. Players must travel through Chaos/Montor to reach the City of the Dead on the other side.

1467 528 -17 :

I've been wandering these lands for ages, seeking refuge from the members of the Royal Guard and hopefully finding a quite secluded place to plan my next insurgence against Archimedes and his followers. I am still quite bitter at my Partisans of Choas's inability to raise enough resources to capture the city of Nujel'm, but I understand that many of them hardly know me, and can't trust me yet, and I hope to give them another chance.

While staying with some people the Brigand Camp, I caught rumors that the Evil Mages are paying handsomely for the capture of a man whom can speak the language of the Gargoyles, and it should be enough to establish a small army to begin again. I have taken a few loyal men, and we shall travel to his home located near the city of Meers in hopes to get him before the Mages do.

Interesting to note that one of my scouts reports the mages were seen at the bridge nearby, they have erected some sort of barrier that prevents anyone from reaching their dungeon or undead fortress. It seems anyone that wishes to visit them now must travel to the ruined city at Chaos Shrine, and travel due south through the desert - I sure hope that's not where we have to take this man if we indeed capture him

Judge Julius Drdyen

1513 545 60 :

The Gargoyles by far have been the most mysteroius race of beings in our lands for as long as one can remember. Only once in recorded history have they been seen openly in our lands, and then they went into seclusion soon after. In that time, it seems they are somewhat Prophets of Ilshenar, as rumors spread they predicted their own future not once, but twice. This has never really been interesting before, but rumors also talk of a third prophecy, one that hasn't come to pass.

Some of our brethren of long ago were able to disguise themselves with polymorphing, and sneak into their city during the period their precense was made known, and they copied many manuscripts and writings found within the city. To this day, we keep these parchments in a safe location, however none of us have been able to translate them.

There has been rumors lately that our land has been bridged to another, and a great many of adventures from this new land are visiting us, but not setting up any residences. What is most surprising is that the Gargoyles once again have come out of seclusion, for what we don't know. Some of our scouts have gone to the new land to see what there is to learn.

One of our spies has infiltrated the leaders castle in the new lands, and has brought a great many reports. It safe to say they won't pose any issues with trying to clear us from our very own land, and a large portion of the populance isn't too interested in the dangers of Ilshenar.

The Gargoyles have gone back into seclusion, which is most peculiar. Scouts have also reported their sacred shrine has been desicrated, and we are going to go investigate tonight. I went through some old notes from our spies, and there is a passage about a man assinged exclusivily by their leader to investigate and learn all he could of Gargoyles, and his last task was to learn their language. If I would have known this sooner, I would ahve sent for him to have the literature we have in storage translated! Since I still consider it a high priority, I have asked my men to travel outward and find this individual.

It's true, the gargoyles have barricaded themselves in, and their shrine has been damaged by forces unknown. In an effort to go into seclusion ourselves, I have ordered the west bridge to be blocked, and the only way into our keep and our dungeon will be through the ancient city of Montor, I am confidant we won't have many visitors.

We have had a visitor today, a strange man whom in his custody claims to have the Gargoyle Linguist. He has been assinged a handsome reward instead of killed upon learning he is not a virtuous person himself, but filled with greed to create an army to destroy those that embrace it in his home land - we feel we have gained an ally as well as find what we were looking for.

I have told him if he wishes to visit our other facility in the desert, the password he will require is "Imertia"

1524 534 35 Ilshenar : There's a portrait here, put an oracle here that when it hears the word "password" it says "Clervinia"

2102 78 -27 : Ilshenar : Put a Wall here, and a magical door on it. the Word "Clervinia" will teleport them to the other side, and another oneway moongate back.

2165 48 -27 : Ilshenar : Put a book here

Here I have been hung to die, for sneaking into this dungeon in search of riches only to find the mages still well alive and active in defending their realm. While being taken to the the back, I was slipping in and out of conciousess while they were arguing at a magic door, it seemed the password was changed. I recall one saying the password was changed monthy, and he wasn't about to go back to the fortress in the river and go ask the magic painting what the password was, and then turned about and taken to where I am chained now, no doubt food for whatever monsters I hear in the distance.

2124 36 -27 : Put a sign on the wall "Interogation Room" Inside the Room create put an NPC in the back corner, named after our Explorer. The players find a book outside the cell "To whoever finds this, my captors have thrown me in here to die, after I didn't reveal my information to them about the gargoyles. Please inform someone in the Royal guard that I am locked up in the Interogation Room, I'm sure they can save me!"

This is where the event is actually over, after the players report it on the BNN house.

2148 143 -27 : Break these doors, maybe put lots of rubble in front. Stick a Comm Cyrstal in the front. When the word "Imertia" is said, the player will teleport to the other side of the door. On the other side of the door, put a ONE WAY moongate back to the toher side, and sticky it.

2122 164 -32 :

We have been assinged indefinate guard duty in these cooriders, as the mages on the inside have sailed the door shut to the inner area. We are not sure how they get in and out, but assume its something to do with the magical communication crystal at the doorway. We assume its a word-activated portal, which we can only assume can be found at the river fortress.

2172 115 -32 : Create Evil Mages here

2126 63 -27 : Put a WALL here, and something ON the wall that the players have to double click to teleport to the other side, and another one way gate. This prevents a GHOST from going through the doors or saying the words and getting to the very very end, and with virtue skills, they would be able to ressurect and win without solving everything in the begining.
